Partial Image Matching by Measures from Connected Color Regions

چکیده
Color features widely used in content-based image technologies for image indexing and retrieval are global, which means they are computed over the entire image. Since the features of partial images are included in those of other complete images, the major problem in partial image retrieval using a global feature is that the feature cannot be a discriminant for a small portion of an image. This paper presents a method of content-based partial image retrieval by using the measures of connected color regions. In a connected color region, the color density and maximum co-occurrence color probability are calculated and compared in order to find images from sequences of complete images that have the same image portion with a query image.

Evaluation of Similarity Measures for Template Matching
Image matching is a critical process in various photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing applications such as image registration, 3D model reconstruction, change detection, image fusion, pattern recognition, autonomous navigation, and digital elevation model (DEM) generation and orientation. The primary goal of the image matching process is to establish the correspondence between two ...
متن کاملImage Zooming using Non-linear Partial Differential Equation
The main issue in any image zooming techniques is to preserve the structure of the zoomed image. The zoomed image may suffer from the discontinuities in the soft regions and edges; it may contain artifacts, such as image blurring and blocky, and staircase effects. This paper presents a novel image zooming technique using Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). It combines a non-linear Fourth-ord...
متن کاملA Saliency Detection Model via Fusing Extracted Low-level and High-level Features from an Image
Saliency regions attract more human’s attention than other regions in an image. Low- level and high-level features are utilized in saliency region detection. Low-level features contain primitive information such as color or texture while high-level features usually consider visual systems. Recently, some salient region detection methods have been proposed based on only low-level features or hig...
متن کاملDoes Color Really Help in Dense Stereo Matching
This paper investigates the role of color in global stereo matching approaches. In our evaluation study, we build various energy functions by combining nine color spaces with four dissimilarity functions and test their performance on 30 ground truth stereo pairs. Our experiments start by computing the matching scores via the absolute difference of color values. As is consistent with previous st...
متن کاملRegistration Plate Recognition from Still Images and Videos in Real Time Conditions
Registration plate recognition plays a vital role in numerous numbers of applications in today’s world. Researches done so far could not completely meet the real time requirements of the system like different color, shape and size of plates, varied illumination conditions at image capture time, different positions and alignment of the plate. In the proposed system we introduce dynamic image pro...
